Summary
The United Nations defines democracy as "a universally recognized ideal." Democracy is very important to the United Nations, it is something they're very passionate about. United Nations has created many programs to support democracy including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF), the Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO), the Department of Political Affairs (DPA) and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
